The Amex SmartEarn Credit Card is a lifetime-free cashback card. You earn 1,000 bonus Membership Rewards points on your first ₹20,000 spend within 90 days. You earn 10X on Amazon, Flipkart, Uber, and BookMyShow. You earn 1X on everything else. If you spend ₹4 lakh in a year, you get 4,000 bonus points as a milestone reward. The card is best for people who shop online on Amazon and Flipkart every month.

How to Apply for the Amex SmartEarn Credit Card in 2026

How to apply Total time: 10 min · You’ll need: PAN, Aadhaar, mobile, salary slips (if required)

  1. Check SmartEarn eligibility — You must be 18 to 70 years old. You must be an Indian resident. Your minimum monthly income must be ₹20,000. A CIBIL score of 720 or more is preferred.

  2. Apply online on the Amex website — Go to americanexpress.com/in → Cards → SmartEarn Credit Card. Click Apply Now. If you already have an Amex account, the form is pre-filled for you.

  3. Complete the application — Give your name as on PAN, PAN number, Aadhaar number, mobile, email, address, employment details, and monthly income.

  4. Complete Aadhaar eKYC — Authorise the Aadhaar OTP eKYC. Verification finishes within 60 seconds.

  5. Submit and track — Submit the form. Note your 12-digit application reference number. Track your status in the Amex app. Approval takes 5 to 10 working days.

  6. Receive the card and activate — Once approved, the card arrives in 5 working days. Activate it by IVR or in the Amex app. Set a 4-digit PIN.

  7. Spend ₹20,000 in 90 days for the welcome bonus — Spend ₹20,000 within 90 days to earn 1,000 bonus Membership Rewards points. The points arrive within 30 days of meeting the target.

  8. Use on Amazon, Flipkart, Uber, and BookMyShow for 10X — Use the card on these four platforms to earn 10 Membership Rewards points per ₹100. The 10X is capped at 1,000 points a month on each platform.
