How to Apply for the HDFC Regalia Gold Credit Card
Apply for the HDFC Bank Regalia Gold Credit Card if you earn ₹1 lakh or more each month. The online form takes about 15 minutes to fill. The annual fee is ₹2,500. If you spend ₹50,000 each month and hit the right milestones, you can earn back up to ₹16,000 each year in vouchers. You also get 12 domestic lounge visits and 6 international Priority Pass visits.
Why this matters
Most entry-level cards in India limit lounge visits or restrict rewards to one brand like Amazon. At the same time, super-premium cards like HDFC Infinia need an annual income above ₹36,00,000 — out of reach for many. The Regalia Gold sits in between. Spend ₹5,00,000 a year and you get ₹10,000 in flight vouchers. Spend more and you unlock another ₹5,000 flight voucher plus a ₹2,500 retail voucher. Add a lower 2% forex rate and complimentary Club Vistara Silver status, and this card pays back in real travel savings.
Why this card
The HDFC Regalia Gold is the easiest premium travel card to get from HDFC Bank. The income bar is ₹12,00,000 a year — high enough to be serious, low enough for many salaried professionals. You get ₹16,000 in milestone vouchers a year, a 2% forex rate, and lounge access at 12 domestic and 6 international airports. It works for people who fly a few times a year and want real value without the invite-only Infinia bar.

-
Gather your documents — You need your PAN card and Aadhaar card. Your mobile number must be linked to Aadhaar for OTP verification. Salaried applicants need the last 3 months salary slips, Form 16, and 6 months bank statements. Self-employed applicants need 2 years ITR with computation, profit and loss statements, and GST or Udyam registration.
-
Go to HDFC Bank’s credit card portal — Open HDFC Bank’s website on your phone or computer. If you already have an HDFC account, log in with your customer ID. New customers can find Regalia Gold under the premium category and click Apply Online.
-
Enter your personal details — Fill in your name as on PAN, date of birth, gender, marital status, email, and residential address. Make sure the address matches your Aadhaar. Say whether you own or rent the home.
-
Add your employment details — Give your employer name, office location, designation, total work experience, and annual income. If your employer is in HDFC’s approved list, approval comes faster. Self-employed applicants should specify their business type and nature.
-
Complete Aadhaar e-KYC — Submit your Aadhaar number and enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile. This verifies your identity and address electronically, as required by RBI. If prompted, upload salary slips or ITR.
-
Complete Video KYC — Within 24 to 48 hours you will get a Video KYC link by SMS and email. Click it during banking hours (10 AM to 6 PM) in a well-lit room. Show your PAN card to the camera and sign on a white sheet of paper. The officer will guide you through the rest.
-

Once it arrives, go to the HDFC MyCards portal or mobile app to set your 4-digit PIN, set transaction limits, and enable contactless payments.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Missing the ₹60,000 quarterly spend for lounge access — You need to spend at least ₹60,000 in the previous quarter to get 3 complimentary domestic lounge visits this quarter. If you do not meet this, your lounge entry is declined or you pay ₹1,200 to ₹1,800 plus 18% GST.
- Redeeming points for statement cash instead of travel — 1 RP = ₹0.20 as statement credit. But on SmartBuy flights and hotels, 1 RP = ₹0.50. Redeeming 20,000 points as cash gives you ₹4,000. Redeeming the same for flights gives you ₹10,000. You lose ₹6,000 by choosing wrong.
- Letting quarterly vouchers expire — The ₹1,500 shopping voucher needs ₹1,50,000 in quarterly spend. You must claim it within 60 days by SMS or net banking, and use it within 90 days. Four unclaimed quarterly vouchers a year means ₹6,000 in vouchers lost.
- Spending on excluded categories expecting rewards — Fuel, rent, government services, school fees, and wallet reloads earn 0 points. They also do not count towards the ₹4,00,000 fee waiver. Spending ₹1,00,000 on rent earns you nothing and costs ₹1,000 in processing fees.
- Paying only part of your bill — HDFC charges 3.75% per month (45% a year) plus 18% GST on the outstanding amount. Leaving ₹50,000 unpaid for 3 months costs over ₹5,625 in interest and taxes. This wipes out a full year’s milestone vouchers.
Pro tips
- Spend ₹1,00,000 in the first 90 days — This unlocks Club Vistara Silver Tier and MakeMyTrip Black Gold membership. These perks are worth over ₹3,500 in seat selection, baggage, and hotel discounts.
- Use HDFC SmartBuy for flights and hotels — Booking through SmartBuy gives you up to 10X reward points (up to 40 RP per ₹150). This lets you hit the monthly cap of 5,000 points faster.
- Request your Priority Pass card right after activation — International lounge access needs a separate Priority Pass card. Request it via HDFC NetBanking after 4 transactions. You need it before you travel abroad.
- Cross the ₹5,00,000 milestone each year — Spending ₹5,00,000 waives the ₹2,500 renewal fee and gives you a ₹5,00,000 flight voucher. Adding ₹2,50,000 more spend gives another ₹5,00,000 voucher. That is ₹12,500 in net value a year.
